Today we will be practicing measurement for both volume and density.  This will assist you in being more confident in the processes necessary to find density in the lab we will be doing on Wednesday.

We will be having the first CBA and OER tests on Friday.


CBA stands for Curriculum Based Assessment - This test will be multiple choice and cover all of the state student expectations that have been covered in the first 9 weeks of school.

OER stands for Open Ended Response - This is a test in which the students must answer the questions based solely on what they know about the subject in the question.  Basically it is short answer or essay questions.  This test will cover specifically the past two weeks of student expectations.  This includes the following:

• Comparing Metals, Metalloids, and Nonmetals
• Calulating Density
• Testing Unidentified Minerals using color, luster, streak, hardness, and density.
